Fibre rods are necessary and serve as important pillars for different structures. Since carbon fibre is rigid, it is ideal when both stiffness and lightness are needed. They are sometimes used to replace steel rods, but mostly as an alternative for aluminium. They can be up to a third of the weight of an aluminium rod and deliver better strength capacity. Fibre rods feature in lightweight frame constructions.
